Reformat Hard Drive And Install Windows 7

There are Two Main Types to reformat hard drive and install Windows 7

A reinstall allows you to keep all your software and personal settings. This method is of interest because you may unintentionally keep the actual glitch that you’re attempting to completely eliminate.

Our recommended Method: Do a full reformat hard drive and reinstall. Strongly recommended if you did not have a total reformat hard drive on your pc for a year or so, or have problems that cannot be  eliminated or addressed by optimization software.( I strongly advise that you look at entire article before you begin a reformat, this will make sure you don’t miss any vital steps during installation.)Reformat Hard Drive and Full Re-installation of Windows 7 Software.

First of all- BACK UP ALL DATA before doing a reformat hard drive and fresh installation!

Purchase a new hard drive. Maybe a 1 Terabyte HD. On today’s market it  should never be more than $65.00 USD. Use the old hard drive “as is”, to be used as a backup. Reformat Hard Drive  is relatively easy and carried out automatically through the Windows 7 installation software. To set up new installation install and connect the brand new hard drive. Press the pc start button, then instantly Press the “Delete Key ” several times at start up to go in BIOS settings. You should now be in the blue BIOS screen, Tab through the menu to set system to boot from CD or DVD. Insert Windows 7 CD, reboot, and choose to boot from CD by pressing “ENTER”.

On initial Windows 7 installation your screen shows a blue windows default screen a few minutes in to the start of the fresh installation including a format hard drive. The blue screen has a small “Microsoft Bird” at the bottom right. It can appear that this program has frozen, not so, be patient this initial screen lasts about 4 to 5 minutes, then the installations continues smoothly until fully completed. If you think the program has frozen up don’t do anything. It is all fine. It will finish sooner or later (approx.  after 20 minutes). What happens in this seemingly frozen time is a reformat hard drive, copying files from disk and installing the operation system.

After the reformat hard drive and installing the operating system is finished you might want to install your printer. Setting up printers often requires that you install the software first before connecting the printer. If you get this wrong you will frequently have to uninstall reboot and start again using the printer program. Carefully install the remainder of your personal software programs rebooting after every installation when practical.

For me, I will do a reformat hard drive and reinstalling only as a last resort. The real work is not in the format hard drive or re installation of Windows 7 OS and motherboard drivers, but with custom, printer and boutique software that require a lot of TLC when installing. Good Optimization Software can be worth its weight in gold and is highly recommended to support the just finished reformat hard drive and re installation.
